On July 30th, NMFS awarded AIS a third consecutive contract to support the NMFS Alaska Fisheries Science Center’s Fisheries Monitoring and Analysis Division (FMA)(Announcement). The contract consists of one base year and four option years, starting August 17th, 2019 and ending August 16, 2024. Through this contract, AIS will be responsible for hiring, managing, and retaining qualified personnel to collect quality environmental, biological, and fisheries operations data for the FMA’s North Pacific Observer Program and the Resource Assessment and Conservation Engineering (RACE) Division of the Alaska Fisheries Science Center. The project area includes over 42 coastal communities spread across over 3000 miles from Ketchikan to Adak, Alaska. AIS is excited to continue working with the North Pacific Observer program and RACE. We currently employ a dedicated management staff and team of over 50 exceptional observers to ensure continued success during this next contract.
