AIS provides highly qualified Protected Species Observers (also known as Marine Mammal Observers) in support of construction operations on vessels completing pile driving operations. AIS is fully equipped to completing the hiring, training, data sheet design, data editing and submission, as well as weekly summary reports and final reports. We also provide shift design and scheduling services.

Due to the large exclusion zone associated with pile driving activities, AIS is experienced and capable of deploying multiple PSO teams along with vessel support to accomplish the monitoring required. This is accomplished by having one PSO team onboard the pile driving barge communicating closely with a second PSO team deployed onboard a monitoring vessel circling the construction site during the impact pile driving operations.

Previous pile driving projects for which AIS provided the above services:

  • Deepwater Wind Block Island (2015)

  • E & E Rockaway Delivery Lateral Pipeline Project (2014)
