The official announcement has been confirmed and A.I.S., Inc. is the awardee for Northeast Fisheries Observer Program (NEFOP), Observer Support Services contract! This program supports the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC) which is located in Woods Hole, MA which serves to monitor and observe living marine resources and associated communities to provide information on biota, their habitats, and the human activities and actions that may impact coastal and ocean ecosystems. This 5 year contact affords AIS an opportunity to continue working with stakeholders throughout the region of Maine through North Carolina in order to provide this important service to the NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). In order to fulfill the anticipated coverage of approximately 10,000 sea days per year, AIS will maintain an observer cadre of 80 to 100 NMFS certified fisheries observers.
